It's a bit weird (and creepy to a certain extend) to see your 'visitor counter' for your blog keeps moving up and you have no idea who actually reads this site! Hahaha thanks for tuning in all the time, my silent stalk-ish readers, hope you've been entertained thus far :D
How has your New Year been? I hope it's going great for everyone? Mine has been pretty slow and quiet. Maybe coz my family and I decided not to go back to Penang this year, and my existing KL relatives have decided to return to Penang and Sabah. For our Reunion dinner, it was just my parents, my bro and sis-in-law and myself. We had steam pomfret fish, joo hoo char with lettuce and belacan (very typical Penang dish), Curry Chicken (from Klang) and awesome Lin Ngau Tong by my mom. Gosh we were all UBER FULL at the end of it, had to walk it off.
The next day was the 1st Day of the New Year, and it was ALSO my mom's birthday. We went out for a good simple dinner at a Thai Restaurant called Seeri Thai. The owners are both Penangnite and Thai, husband and wife, who cooks great Thai food! If you want to go, let me know, I can hook you up...or my parents can hook you up! HAHA! Later I spent my parents on Swensons Ice-Cream :) You see, the next day is my dad's birthday! Yup, one after the other, both the same age and both from Penang. So belanja one shot.
Today is the 2nd Day of the New Year and my bro and sis-in-law were suppose to come over in the night to have steamboat. At first we thought it was just the 5 of us, but at the end the numbers kept adding until we got almost the whole family from Klang in our living room! :D It was a bit overwhelming at first but it was good. I'm learning to mingle, to get to know and to be comfortable with everyone, even though I'm my usual quiet self. I wonder if I come off as quirky sometimes...hmm... :p
Anyway, here are a few pictures of our steamboat night:
We had to borrow tables, chairs, utensils and cutleries from our neighbours and bro to accommodate for the night.
Here's roughly the food spread, slightly more came in after that:
I've got to learn how to eat crabs more often. I injured my thumb while trying to break the shell...two injuries on the same thumb!
After dinner, the relatives bought cakes for both my mom and dad. Oh that's my sis-in-law's niece, Emily:
That sums up my New Year thus far. I've been pretty restless and lethargic all at the same time. I've been quite in a pensive mood as well...I wonder why...I guess I'll leave that for another day. Till the next post, Gong Hei Fatt Choi!
