Just a few weeks ago, I went for a wedding photoshoot. Everyone was trying all sorts of things for the shoot and a friend and I figured, let's do a handstand. Not being so smart, thinking my hands could handle my body weight when I actually don't exercise and I have weak wrists. I end up with slightly sprained wrists. It wasn't much of a deal at first, but weirdly, the pain escalated through the night until I couldn't move my wrist, the right one that is. Had a doctor friend check it out and my tendons were swollen. Bummer. Had to drive around and do my daily work with one hand. Couldn't move it for about 2 days. It was challenging as I had to play the keys for a few worship sessions in that week. Had to keep reminding myself not to overplay but relax and be gentle. Now it's better but weak, and sometimes hurts if I bend it in a certain way.
Injured Back
2 weeks ago, I woke up with a bad lower back. The pain stayed with me for a while. I usually have lower back problems, so I never really give it much thought and just waited it out, thinking it would go away. After a week, it got worst. And one night, the pain just escalated and it became really painful. I couldn't sleep, every position I tried, the pain was awful. The next morning, I was zombified from the lack of sleep, AND I couldn't stand nor walk properly! I knew I had to see the doctor asap. That very morning, I had to go to work (church) to perform at a Staff Birthday Breakfast event and had to endure my situation for a few hours before I went to see the doc. After everything, I got myself to the clinic, the doc tested me to see if it was a spinal or muscular problem. Thankfully, it was just muscular. He gave me a jab in the butt and some medication, a form of muscle relaxen. I couldn't really walk after that coz one side of my back is painful, and now one side of my butt is cramp/sore from the jab. I limped by the inches, from the clinic to the car opposite the road, and from the gate into the house, while carrying all my heavy bags. It was interesting and funny all at the same time. It's been 4 days since then. I'm way much better now.
Staff Birthday Breakfast
So at the staff birthday breakfast, I had to perform a song. I forgot that I was supposed to perform only until 2 days before. I manage to find a song 1 day later and started to practice it. I was extremely unprepared and I went to perform the song without any confidence. Gosh, my nerves really got to me and I fumbled with my words, I forgot my arrangement, and played the guitar and sang badly. On top of trying not to melt under pressure, I had to endure my back pain. URGH! So anyway, here is the video of my horrible performance. I sang one of my favourite songs, "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. Totally didn't do the song and my favourite band any justice. Sorry Gary, Jay and Joe! Probably the song was a bit too big for me, but anyhoo, I do hope, the lyrics really spoke to everyone who heard it that morning.
